Board-Certified Surgeon Dr. Karim Sarhane

An experienced general, laparoscopic and peripheral nerve surgeon, Karim Sarhane, MD, is certified by the American Board of Surgery (since 2021). He also holds a certificate of training equivalency in Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical equipment and a clinical trials certificate from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Karim Sarhane has completed and passed American College of Surgeons-recognized programs in the Fundamentals of both Laparoscopic and Endoscopic surgery.

Dr. Sarhane currently serves as a general, laparoscopic, and peripheral nerve surgeon at Burjeel Royal Hospital in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). Before accepting this position in September 2022, he undertook a year of additional training in plastic surgery (with a focus on peripheral nerve surgery) at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Other key milestones in his medical career include serving as a Surgical Resident with the University of Toledo Medical Center and as Principal Investigator at Johns Hopkins University, leading research projects funded by the American Foundation of Surgery of the Hand and the Plastic Surgery Foundation (including a study focused on engineering a nanofiber composite carrier for the delivery of targeted therapy to promote nerve regeneration).
